To redeem myself from the Starling blog, (I still dislike starlings!) we have been fascinated with our thistle feeder for some time because of the birds that it attracts. We filled the feeder just yesterday (Saturday) and it is almost half empty now (Sunday at noon). The house finches and gold finches are starting to really color-up. (My term for getting their full color after their drab winter colors!) Keith counted as many as 28 gold finches on the ground feeding on the seed that other birds had tossed out this morning. They mostly flew away when I decided to take the picture, of course. But they have been fun to watch. That has been our "Easter activity" for this year because all of the kids will be coming at a later time.

You guys are good to the birds as long as they stay out of the house.
